The contradiction between one of the main objectives of the carried out reforms of electric power industry – increase of investment attractiveness of this branch – on the one hand, and the revealed tendency of depressing of financial efficacy of electric power industry – on the other hand is discussed. Recommendations about improvement of informational and analytical maintenance of monitoring the efficacy of the Russian electric power industry for increase of validity of administrative decisions are formulated.

Key words: quantitative assessment of efficiency of the enterprise and national economy branch; electric power industry re-structuring; profitability of private capital; generation, transportation and electricity sale; investment attractiveness; interbranch competition.
