Abstract. The article provides a detailed analysis of the national project “Labor Productivity”, shows its role in achieving the national development goals of the Russian Federation and the target indicators that characterize them. The general provisions of the project are presented, its structure is analyzed, a retrospective analysis of changes over the period of its implementation is carried out. The tasks and socially significant results planned to be achieved through the implementation of the project are considered, the amount of funding is disclosed by years of implementation and in the context of its constituent federal projects, and the role of the federal budget in matters of its financial support is shown. Indicators of cash execution of expenses are studied. The indicators of the socioeconomic development of the Russian Federation used to monitor the achievement of indicators of national and federal projects as part of the implementation of the Federal Plan of Statistical Works are presented. The actual data on the level of their achievement are analyzed on the basis of the Unified Interdepartmental Information and Statistical System data. In addition, the federal projects included in the structure of the project are shown, the implemented activities and the support measures provided are considered in detail; the main activities carried out by the Federal Competence Center are considered. Information is provided on the best practices that contributed to increasing labor productivity and efficiency of enterprises participating in the national project, reducing costs; selected enterprises of the Southern Federal District participating in the project. The authors disclosed the measures provided under the project to support employment, including in connection with the risk of releasing employees due to increased productivity of enterprises, as well as to meet the needs of enterprises for new personnel and retrain workers in relevant areas. Measures aimed at modernizing employment services in order to introduce innovative solutions and improve the efficiency of their work were considered; a brief description of the project management tools used by public authorities in order to achieve the national development goals of the Russian Federation is given. A number of indicators and results were assessed in the context of the regions of the Southern Federal District.
