annotation: The factors of investment strategy formation of ferrous metallurgical companies are considered in the article; the SWOT-analysis of the industry companies is conducted and the company strategies are outlined on its basis: the strategies of the survival aimed at the preservation of business, the strategy of the status quo preservation with the purpose of the preservation of the current position and stabilization of capital cost; the strategies of development directed at the creation of the long-term competitive advantages, leading to the growth of capital cost; the characteristics of strategies are given and their risks are revealed.
