annotation: The article deals with rendering of municipal services to the population and organizations in the capital cities of subjects of Southern Federal Region of the Russian Federation. Problems connected with the process of rendering of municipal services are revealed. Perspectives of development of rendering municipal services to the population and organizations in the cities of Maikop, Elista, Astrakhan, Volgograd, Krasnodar and Rostov are tackled. Certain measures aimed at improving the quality of municipal services rendered are presented.
