annotation: The present article is devoted to the processes happening at megalevel of modern global economic system, accompanied by a growing variety of megaeconomic phenomena. Along with megaregions, megacities, megaprojects, megacenters, the meganets and their local nodes are identified among them. The role of the global retail chains, classified as meganets, in the world economic development is characterized.
