Abstract. The article deals with the issues of evaluating the actual significance of enterprises’ innovation activity in modern Russia. The analysis of innovative indices of some states was carried out and it allowed to explain the most perspective models of innovation systems of countries-leaders. The author makes conclusion about the most promising directions of innovative activity on the basis of the analysis of the activity of innovation leaders at the world and Russian levels. The article reveals the causes of Russian enterpreneuship unreadiness to innovation development. The critical evaluation of government policies and directions of modernization development of Russia have been performed. The directions of development and competitiveness of business structures on the basis of innovation and integration have been proposed.
