Abstract. The article considers a model of an open innovation market with the participation of an investor, a developer of an innovative product, and its user. In this study, the user’s production function is modeled. Each market participant has a specific production process and innovative activity. The production function allows one to form a model of the dependence of the volume of manufactured innovative products on the costs of innovative activity. A correlation analysis of the relationship between the volume of production and costs was carried out for sixty types of economic activity, of which six were selected for further analysis according to the criterion of the most pronounced dependence of the volume of production on costs: manufacturing, mining, production of medicines and materials used for medical purposes, production of computers, electronic and optical products, production of electrical equipment, and activities in the field of telecommunications. Production functions were formed for the selected types of economic activity. As a result, regression models were obtained in the form of linear and exponential dependencies. A conclusion can be made about the characteristic types of production functions for certain types of economic activity. The results of the study can be used in modeling innovative activity by sectors.

Key words: innovation, sectors, costs, volume of production, regression model, correlation analysis.
