Annotation: The article deals with the research of functioning of national and international societies of mutual insurance. Within the aforementioned investigation the author reveals specifics of ensuring financial stability in the Russian societies of mutual insurance: Fund of Entrance Fees (starting); Fund of Additional Contributions (guarantee); the volume of the insurance premiums brought by members of societies of mutual insurance which quantity can increase up to the limit size established by the law. It is revealed that standard and investment functions of authorized capital in societies of mutual insurance aren’t realized that can result in insufficient financial stability of this organizational and legal form of insurance.
