Annotation: The article presents a comparative analysis of methodological approaches to the analysis and assessing of the socio-economic development and interregional comparisons of Russian and foreign researchers. Special attention is paid to the specifics of the existing data base for the calculation and interpretation of individual and integrated indicators.
